New Sole: Jerome Rousseau

Every leading Hollywood starlet and discerning fashionista is well aware that the must-have fashion foot accessory since the early age of SATC has been Manolo Blahnik. Crave-worthy Christian Louboutin’s eye for decadence and shapely designs have also brought the French shoe designer to the top of most women’s wish list.

Alas, there is a new sole tearing up the stiletto scene. With his geometric block heeled ankle books and brightly colored pumps, Quebec-born shoe designer, Jerome Rousseau is introducing a new kind of fancy footwear. For a look that is Paris meets Hollywood, Rousseau describes the collection as “powerful, yet sexy.”

After previously working as a footwear designer for Isabella Fiore, Rousseau (who credits his inspiration to the 90s band Deee-Lite) decided to venture out on his own to create his eponymous collection, which debuted in Fall 2008. No stranger to the fashion industry (in addition to gracing the pages of Vogue, Elle and Bazaar) having worked with the likes of Matthew Williamson and John Rocha the L.A. based-shoe-designer ‘s footwear has been seen on such  A-list celebs as Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore. Rousseau’s Fall Collection can be found at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills and on Net-a-Porter.com. The collection retails from $495 to $1200
