Expensive Taste

South Beach is known for its dining, boasting powerhouse restaurants that offer decadent treats and savory selections almost 24-hours a day, so it takes a lot to standout from the crowd, but one restaurant is doing so in grand style.

The Grill at The Setai in South Beach is adding to their already incredible multi-course tapas menus with a special Black Truffle Menu from now until the end of truffle season (sometime in February).

The Grill, which was just redesigned and re-opened in December 2009, has always boasted dining opportunities like none other. Before the grand re-opening, Executive Chef Jonathan Wright told Haute Living, “For The Grill, I want diners to experience that feeling of discovery that a great dining experience can give you – to smell a white truffle, taste the perfect cheese, enjoy a dish comprised of simple ingredients, but with technique that brings out the flavors in a new, often groundbreaking way.”

This limited opportunity seven-course, tapas-style tasting menu costs $360 per person, not including tax and tip. Watching your budget? You can order a la carte and add truffle to your dish for $6.50 per gram for black truffle and $21 per gram for white truffle. Pair that with one of sommelier Dwayne Savoie’s wine selections and your tastebuds will be thanking you for a long time to come.
