Tom Ford Strikes Again… This Time, In Vegas

Tom Ford has been the man of the hour for quite some time now.  His sinful good looks and hands that turned Gucci into gold (again) have both helped spur his career into great heights.  He left Gucci (and Yves Saint Laurent) in 2004 and hasn’t looked back since – he’s opened his own eponymous house of accessories and sunglasses, which has now expanded to include menswear and beauty products.

While Ford has also made the difficult, yet maybe inevitable, foray into film – his “A Single Man” opens on December 11 starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore – he’s also kept up the momentum with the house of Tom Ford.  This weekend, he opened a new 7,700 square-foot palace of all things Mr. Ford in Las Vegas, at the new Crystals CityCenter.  Other designers with space in the Crystals CityCenter include Louis Vuitton, Ermenegildo Zegna, Cartier, and Versace – the usual suspects, really, so Tom Ford is in good company.

The silver, metallic architectural feat (that, the LA Times’ blog All The Rage rightly points out, resembles Walt Disney Concert Hall) with interiors similar to those in his other shops in Milan and New York will offer all of the wares a man about town could possibly want or need – you could essentially head to Vegas with nothing more than a credit card and a fool-proof hangover cure and Tom Ford would set you up.  Thanks again, Mr. Ford.
