The Twelve Days of Christmas at Meadowood Napa Valley

Only 5 days are left for the Twelve Days of Christmas event at Meadowood Napa Valley! Having begun on December 4th through the 19th, The Twelve Days of Christmas event began as twelve of the country’s most renowned chefs began collaborating with twelve of Napa Valley’s most important wine makers to benefit Share Our Strength, a charity to end childhood hunger in America supported by the nation’s great chefs and the Food Network.

This signature Meadowood event celebrates wine, cuisine and the world’s best holiday traditions. One night’s lodging and dinner seating for two begins at $950 per couple per night. Space is extremely limited, as there is only one seating per evening.

Day 1 (Friday Dec. 4th) featured Chef Mark Sullivan from Spruce in San Francisco, whose cuisine is inspired by the season’s freshest and locally grown organic ingredients, and Vintners Chuck and Anne McMinn from Vineyard 29. one of Napa Valley’s most elite Cabernet producers.

Day 2 (Saturday, Dec. 5th) featured Chef Marcus Samuelsson from Aquavit in New York, a chef who has received more praises and awards than many chefs receive in a lifetime, and Vintners Philip and Carol Norfleet who have come to know and treasure the accomplishment of producing their own wine under the guidance of a fantastic winemaking team.

Day 3 (Tuesday, December 8th) featured Chef and owner of Melisse Restaurant in Santa Monica, Josiah Citrin from Melisse in Santa Monica, a self-taught culinary expert of the LA gourmet dining industry. The day also welcomed Vintner Darioush Khaledi, who spent 20 years building California’s largest independent grocery business, and later embarked on his lifelong dream of opening a winery.

Day 4 (Wednesday, Dec. 9th) featured Chefs Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook from the super popular Animal in LA, and Vintner Hugh Davies from Schramsberg Vineyards and J. Davies Vineyards, who focus on  the finest hand-crafted Pinot Noir and Chardonnay-based méthode champenoise sparkling wine in California.

Day 5 (Thursday, December 10th) featured Chefs Gabriel Rucker, Jason Barwikowski and Naomi Pomeroy from Le Pigeon, Clyde Common, and Beast in Portland, Oregon; and Vintners Susan Boswell from Chateau Boswell, and Joshua & Jacquelynn Peeples from Jacquelynn Wines, who have continued to showcase the unique characteristics of vineyard sources through old-world, low-intervention winemaking techniques.

Day 6 (Friday, December 11th) featured Chef and seafood enthusiast Michael Cimarusti, the owner and chef of Providence in LA, and Vintner Michael Polenske from Blackbird Vineyards.

Day 7 (Saturday, December 12th) featured Chefs Nancy Oakes and Ravi Kapur, from Boulevard in San Francisco, and Vintners Kelly and Paul Fleming from Kelly Fleming Wines, a boutique family winery located in the beautiful hills of Simmons Canyon in Calistoga, Napa Valley.

Day 8 (Tomorrow, December 15th ) will feature Chef and owner of Cortown in New York, Paul Liebrandt, whose modern French menu melds the tradition of classical cuisine with a contemporary approach that results in clean, yet intense flavors. It will also feature Vintner John Conover from PlumpJack and CADE Wineries, both having an exceptional reputation both for amazing wines and innovation.

Day 9 (Wedneday, December 16th) will feature Chef Laurent Gras from L20 in Chicago, a chef whose cooking style continues to evolve at the modern seafood restaurant that is praised for its elegant cuisine and serene atmosphere. The event will also welcome Vintners Bob & Stacey Bressler from Bressler Vineyards and Mia Klein from Selene Wines, famous for producing ultra-premium wines.

Day 10 (Thursday, December 17th) will feature Chef Cat Cora from Bon Appetit Magazine, a chef who makes a lasting impression on the culinary community, and who has received many accolades for his expertise. The event will also be welcoming The Stephens Family from HUNNICUTT and D. R. Stephens Estate, a family who owns and operates these small wineries in Napa Valley and strive for scrupulous attention in the vineyard and the most modest production of the finest wines possible.

Day 11 ( Friday, December 18th) will feature Chefs Nancy Silverton and Matt Molina, from Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza in LA, and Vintners Lindy, Mary and Beth Novak from Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery, a family-owned, historic winegrowing estate in Napa Valley.

Finally, Day 12 Which has already been reserved (sorry, folks!) will take place on Saturday, December 19th and will be featuring Chef Christopher Kostow from The Restaurant at Meadowood and Vintners Bill and Deborah Harlan from Harlan Estate, an estate founded in 1984 to establish one of the finest winegrowing estates in America.
