There’s been a city council initiative and a new voter-backed initiative to set up a 49ers stadium in Santa Clara, but in case the plans for that don’t play out, the “Plan B” that has both the right location and the infrastructure is Oakland. “It’s nothing personal,” said the Niners president. Oakland has, in addition to location and infrastructure, freeway and BART access, while Hunters Point has neither. No work at all has been done to lay the groundwork said Oakland stadium, but they do prefer it. It might even open a door to a shared stadium with the Raiders!
