Sundays at FIG: Not Your Mama’s Brunch

If yesterday’s roundup of LA’s most haute brunch spots left you wanting more and your wallet wanting less, FIG in Santa Monica is the place to be.  Chef Ray Garcia and Kerry Clasby search high and low on farms throughout California for the freshest, organic, seasonal ingredients that are reflected in their menu – their usual brunch menu features a Frittata Verde, Vegetable Curry, and Chilaquiles all made with a foundation of the freshest ingredients available.

More important than all that, though, is what they’ve just launched as part of their Sunday Brunch – the FIG taco bar.  For $3 per taco, you’re looking at choices like Carnitas, Lengua, Steak, and Fish alongside drinks like a High Life, Horchata or Sangrita.  Sounds like FIG knows how to do brunch right.  When you’ve spent a night out trying to find a replacement for the newly closed Key Club, do you really want a cup of earl grey and some eggs benedict? No – you need something savory that hits the spot and a little hair of the dog.

FIG is located at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel – 101 Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica.  (310) 319-3111
