It’s no secret that when Art Basel hits the beach, so do the famous faces of the world. Last night was no exception when former Lagerfeld muse, Ines de la Fressange, strutted her Roger Vivier silver flats into Bal Harbour.
De la Fressange was one of the most sought-after French models in the 80s before signing an exclusive contact with Chanel in 1983. She followed up those projects with the launch of her own boutique, Avenue Montaigne, in 1994. But for the better half of this decade, the tall, slender beauty has been hard at work as the Brand Ambassador for Roger Vivier, the luxury footwear and accessories house.
On Tuesday night, just in time to kick off the Art Basel parties, Ines graced our shores with her presence to celebrate the opening of the Roger Vivier boutique at the Bal Harbour Shops, along with hosts Leticia Herrera Grendene, Ines Rivero, and Munisha Underhill. This is Roger Vivier’s second locale in the U.S., demonstrating the importance of Bal Harbour as one of the most respected luxury retail destinations in the country. Some of Miami’s well-known tastemakers showed their support last night, along with movie star Paula Patton with husband Robin Thicke and Mexican modeling beauty and host of Mexico’s Next Top Model, Elsa Benitz.
Following an exclusive cocktail reception inside the new 1,000-square-foot boutique, a select few were invited to be a part of the haute dining scene for a dinner at one of Haute Living’s favorite restaurants on the beach, Casa Tua. Stayed tuned to HauteLiving.com for behind-the-scenes images from the grand opening and the exclusive dinner party, as well as exclusive comments from Ines about the relationship between fashion and art, and what true luxury means for her.
