It’s Awards Season for Luxury Autos Too

The jury has deliberated and the powers that be at Bloomberg News are reporting back with excellent news for luxury car aficionados. That’s right readers, the four-door sports sedan that is the 2010 Porsche Panamera has received the coveted prize of “Car of the Year for 2009” in its first official ratings of automobiles, in addition to Edmunds’ “Inside Line Editors’ Most Wanted” trophy at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. The luxury model also holds various other accolades from media outlets throughout the world.

“The Porsche Panamera has broken the sports-sedan category wide open, producing a truly desirable auto that combines the best elements of a sports car and a comfortable four-door,” said Jason H. Harper, who reviews hundreds of automobiles annually for Bloomberg’s Car of the Year awards. “Fast and fun, the Panamera is a car with real appeal.”

The Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, Audi R8 5.2, and the Land Rover LR4 also took home well deserved trophies in their class. Porsche present three models of the Panamera, including the 500 horsepower, twin-turbocharged, and four- wheel drive Panamera Turbo.
