Ferrari Makes Custom Car for A Special Client

Although Ferrari has always been known to give special treatment to certain customers, it recently gave one lucky customer a very special treat. A longtime customer that has bought numerous models over the years, has certain perks, and those include the Ferrari mechanics to custom build a car of your very own, that is, a one-of-a-kind Ferrari model. Among these elite clientele is the Sultan of Brunei, a collector and Ferrari enthusiast who had purchased a vast array of Ferraris from all over the globe.

Another special customer is Edward Walson, whose father invented cable TV, and who was infatuated with a previous custom Ferrari built for the 1968 Fellini film, Toby Dammit. The Ferrari P540 Superfast Aperta is based on the body of a 599 GTB Fiorano, and took 14 months to make. It is completely road legal, and is powered by a 612 hp 6.0-liter V12 engine. Extensive use of carbon fiber allowed the Special Projects engineers to keep weight gain down to only 44 pounds in spite of having to strengthen the open top car. “This is the most special Christmas present of my life,” said Walson.
