One of our favorite chefs and restaurateurs deserves 30 spanks. But as most know (and some enjoy), friendly slaps on the backside aren’t necessarily punishment for bad behavior and can actually be quite fun, particularly if it is in honor of a momentous birthday occasion. On Tuesday night, Michael Chow was the proud recipient of the birthday abuse when he celebrated 30 years with Mr. Chow NYC.
The who’s who of New York nightlife came out in droves to dine on our cover story’s famed noodles. Of course the exquisite Mrs. Eva Chow showed support in her trademark haute style and was reportedly overheard observing, “If these walls could talk…” Other celebrity guests included Mischa Barton, Olivia Palermo, Chris Henchy, Brooke Shields, and Paula Froelich.
Michael himself joined in the revelry and was seen shaking his money maker on his own dance floor after Chef Li Hong pleased the palates with salt and pepper lobster, Beijing oysters, chicken satay, steamed vegetable dumplings, pot stickers, and prawn toast. Laurent Perrier Champagne flowed freely, allowing for a good time to be had by all.
