Opium Attempts New York

Opium Group is one of Miami’s most famous entities. If you live and work in Miami and have any kind of social nightlife whatsoever, you should be well aware of the hospitality conglomerate. With ties to five major clubs in South Beach alone, Opium Group is like the God of all nightclub venues, leaving everyone else in the industry only hoping to become half as successful and influential as the entertainment giant. The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, and many other publications have praised them for drawing countless A-list celebrities to their many events and venues. But with as much power and popularity Opium Group has in South Florida, they haven’t necessarily mastered the sink or swim nightlife game in other major cities.

They do have Prive in Las Vegas, a more than successful venue in the city of pleasure-filled sins, but an earlier failed attempt at opening another Mansion in New York City, probably left them still feeling slightly discouraged and perhaps even like a bit of a failure. But if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again, right? So that’s exactly what Opium Group is doing by taking another go at opening a venue in the fast-paced, competitive city. At least that’s the word on the street. Apparently there are no set in stone plans, but word has it that they are in talks of opening the Miami-based Louis Bar and Lounge in an area of hipster-rich Soho. If Opium Group can master New York’s nightlife social scene, they will have basically reached the highest point in their successful ventures. Only time will tell though because, in a ridiculous attempt at sounding corny but true, what may be hot for the Miami goose, may not be so hot for the New York gander.
