Introducing Sexy to Sophistication

I call Miami home for the time being, and I have to admit, this city has sexy down pat. But having been fortunate enough to have spent most of my youth in Europe and in London, England, I have to say, I miss a bit of good old fashioned traditional British sophistication. That, and the fact that I’m always up for becoming acquainted with new Miami haute-spots, is why I’m one of many who are thrilled to hear about the opening of a new three-story supper club called The Ivy at the Grove, located in, you guessed it, Coconut Grove Miami.

The new sexy-sophistication concept is coming over the Atlantic from England, the same country that adorned us with sensual offerings such as the undeniably beautiful Naomi Campbell, the drop dead “rarr-of-a-man” that is David Beckham (I’ve met him, and the “rarr” captured on camera is only multiplied in person) and even  the breakfast staple Weetabix. The highly anticipated Ivy at the Grove is set to open on Friday and it comes from the owners of the Ivy restaurant and Raffles private club in London.

Even the outside of the new supper-club screams “sexy can be sophisticated” as it’s housed in a Victorian mansion that features an atrium, a live jazz band, iron clad balconies, classic English food such as salmon cakes with sautéed spinach and sticky toffee pudding, and a 60-foot long wooden British style bar. But leave your bikini at home people, please; this new place comes with an unofficial dress code that recommends dressy attire and screams “for the love of God Miamians, put a tie on!”

See you there!
