Bvlgari celebrated its 125th Anniversary last night with a Cocktail Party at its Bal Harbour Store to benefit Save The Children’s Rewrite the Future Campaign.
Veronica Trenk, Managing Director for Bulgari USA, and Vivian Pfeiffer, Southeast Regional Director for Christie’s, hosted a fabulous cocktail party in Bal Harbour Shops. Guests included Belkys Nerey, Laurie Jennings and Veronica Cervera, who sipped on champagne and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres including curried chicken tartlets with shaved coconut and crushed peanuts, lemon-chives tuiles topped with smoked salmon and crème fraiche and mini tenderloin of beef with tamarind orange glad.
Guests also previewed Bulgari’s 125th anniversary auction collection which consists of 11 one-of-a-kind jewelry creations and 7 limited edition timepieces that were on display, and guests were able to place absentee bids on items.
On December 8, 2009 at Christie’s in New York City, the 18 extraordinary creations will be auctioned off. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to Rewrite the Future, Save the Children’s worldwide campaign. In addition, guests were able to purchase a silver ring that Bulgari created exclusively to support the Rewrite the Future campaign. The ring is available in Bulgari stores worldwide until December 31, 2009. For each ring sold, $60 will go to the campaign.
In celebration of their 125 year anniversary, Bulgari will auction an extraordinary collection of 11 one-of-a-kind jewelry creations and 7 limited edition timepieces. The jewels’ overall value is estimated at around $4 million, and all proceeds will be donated to Save the Children’s Rewrite the Future campaign, dedicated to providing quality education for 8 million children living in conflict-affected areas. The collection was officially presented to the public on May 20, 2009 at a private celebration inaugurating Bulgari’s first-ever retrospective museum exhibition at the prestigious Il Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. From June until November 2009, the collection will tour the world’s greatest cities where they will be presented at a series of high-profile events. This international tour will culminate with the New York auction on December 8th when these 18 exquisite creations will be sold at Christie’s–the world’s leading auction house. The project has already attracted many well-known supporters, including photographer Fabrizio Ferri. Ferri has donated his time and talent creating portraits of the numerous stage, screen and music stars who have taken part in the effort. Noteworthy among these are: Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel, Ginnifer Goodwin, Benicio Del Toro, Ben Stiller, Sally Field, Sting, Willem Dafoe, Terrence Howard, Jason Lewis, Andy Garcia, Valeria Golino, Ricky Martin, Isabella Rossellini, and Debra Messing.
