A Spa that Believes in a Good Stiff Drink

If you happen to be looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, preferably with a fantastic spa to elevate any aches and pains, head over to the Parker Palm Springs, California. If you happen to be looking for a weekend getaway that provides adequate amounts of stiff drinks to help soothe you into the weekend, then again, head over to the Parker Palm Springs, California.

The swanky hotel has just finished remodeling their Palm Springs Yacht Club, and their mission statement is certainly enough to grab my relaxation-seeking, luxury-loving attention, “We believe in the American country club experience: mixed doubles, a long steam, and a stiff cocktail.” The entire new design of the space makes cocktails as important as mud baths with a new lounge featuring dark leather chairs, coffee tables, and dim lighting. In addition, real treats (which the hotel promises are not apples) and shots of whiskey are passed around. Yep, you read that correctly.

The lounge also includes complimentary eye masks, books to read, an open-air yoga studio, and a pool. The new outdoor café, The Deck, serves small afternoon-tea-styled sandwiches, scones, and, of course, more cocktails.

Treatment prices at the Parker Palm Springs Spa vary depending on length and program, however, they begin at $90 for a body soak or scrub, $150 for massages, and $210 for “daily excursion” spa packages. Don’t forget to factor in your booze intact too, as it seems to be quite the highlight of the getaway! Cheers!
