The Sunset Tower’s Neighborhood, Los Angeles

The Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles is located on a heavily hotel-populated strip of Sunset, neighboring The Standard Hotel, the Mondrian, and the Andaz West Hollywood.

Despite Los Angeles stereotypes, the Sunset Tower Hotel is located such that guests can actually walk to all below mentioned hot-spots…yes, I said walk, in L.A.

Crossing over Sunset, guests of the Sunset Tower Hotel will find themselves in the somewhat casual lobby of The Andaz hotel, deciding between cocktails at the bar or full-on regional French cuisine with Californian accents in the hotel’s restaurant, RH. Back on the Sunset Hotel side of the street, there is a House of Blues next to the Asia de Cuba located inside the Mondrian where you can enjoy a poolside meal with sprawling views of the city.

Back across the street from the Mondrian is Katana, a Japanese fusion restaurant with a happy hour menu and a casual ambience. For the even more casual dining experience, Saddle Ranch bar and restaurant are famous for their home-cooking and hard cocktails. Casual-vacationers beware, however—strolling too far down Sunset will bring you to high-end, and not so casual, shops such as Dolce & Gabbana and BCBG.

For those of us who enjoy that less casual side of town, however, visit Sunset Plaza, a shopping center where you can people/celebrity watch, shop, and enjoy some of the greatest restaurants until your heart is content. The location features establishments such as Caffe Primo, Viper Room, Whiskey A Go Go, Equinox Fitness Center, and the Kardashian sisters favorite, the restaurant Ketchup.
