San Francisco’s Football Fix

While the San Francisco 49ers, who are 3 and 2 this season, might have a by-week this weekend, we know you still need your football fix. So we’d like to direct your attention to our recent profile of Jed York, the team’s owner and also the youngest owner in NFL history. Only 28 years old, Jed took over the reigns at Candlestick Stadium following the 2008 season, and he is working every day to restore glory to the storied franchise. As he says, “The 49ers mean a lot to people, especially during a tough economic time, when you don’t have stability in your job, you don’t know what’s going on, and you might have overreached on a house. At the end of the day, you are looking for something you can hold onto as your own, and that is going to Candlestick Park on Sunday or watching the team on TV.”

For more football reading, you can check out the Bleacher Report’s reaction to our profile here.  Analyst  Glenn Franco Simmons writes that “In an excellent profile in Haute Living Magazine, writer Stephanie Wilson reveals a side of Jed York that 49ers fans are anxious to learn about. It couldn’t have come at a more opportune time in the team’s history. After nearly a decade of mediocre teams, it is time to move on, close ranks and look to the future.” The future continues next Sunday when the 49ers take on the Houston Texans in week 7 at 10 a.m. PDT.
