Rally For Kids Comes To Miami

Get ready for the FUN to be put back in fundraising!  That was the message this past Friday eve, October 16, at the waterfront estate of JR & Loren Ridinger, founders of Market America, who hosted the evening kickoff event for the Miami Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup.  In attendance was Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria Parker, who is chairing the Miami Rally along with Loren Ridinger.  Miami’s movers and shakers were invited to be solicited to become drivers for the November 20 & 21 rally.

Haute Living’s Publisher Kamal Hotchandani stepped up to the plate signing up to become a driver, along with Opium Group owner Eric Milan, nightlife impresario, Michael Capponi, and many others. Celebrities have also been recruited to race with the drivers around the city of Miami, and details can be found in our cover article.  Each driver will choose a celebrity navigator, and the team who raises the most earning the top draft choice. At each pit stop, drivers will be asked trivia questions while doing some silly things with other celebrities. Thus, this is not just another boring, sit-down charity dinner, but a chance to have a blast racing around town with celebrities in tow.

Each driver is being asked to raise $25,000 for their car.  Decals can be purchased for placement on cars for $500. The rally will benefit The Jackson Memorial Foundation, International Kids Fund, and Holtz Children’s Hospital.

The ‘Rally for Kids for Cancer’ is moving around North America to different cities with rallies in LA, Vegas, Toronto and Miami.
