Jann Wenner’s $11.9 Million Montauk Home

Rolling Stone co-founder and publisher Jann Wenner just closed on a 6,300-square-foot, three-story waterfront home on Old Montauk Highway for $11.9 million. The eight-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bath house sits on one-and-a-half acres with more than 200 feet of coastline and is separated from Bernie Madoff’s old beach haunt by only a half-mile. Other famous faces who will be the rockin’ writer’s new neighbors include Robert DeNiro and New York’s Haute 100 member Ralph Lauren.

According to the New York Post, Wenner closed on the three-story house with his partner, model-turned-fashion-designer Matt Nye, for $3 million less than the original asking price. The property had been in the hands of something called 372 Assets, LLC, which is owned by the fellow the Post noted to have developed and built the house, George Filopoulos of Manhattan-based Metrovest.

The clean space features a vaulted living room and dining room, huge stone fireplace, great room with eating area, office/ exercise room, and plenty of room to entertain. The middle floor of the house has a deck that runs most of its length and has an exterior staircase leading down to a backyard that features a narrow strip of lawn, ocean-view patios, and a party-sized hot tub. The listing information mentions that there are plans for a guest house and a swimming pool.

Besides still having his name on the deed of an oceanfront house on 11.59 acres on Further Lane in East Hampton, NY that he owned with his ex-wife Jane, Wenner also owns five additional properties.
