The renowned fashion house of Christian Dior is bringing a show of fine art photographs by Beijing-based fashion photographer Quentin Shih to the U.S., and the first showing will be at Southern California’s crown retail jewel, the South Coast Plaza Mall.
Having received major acclaim while the display was presented in Asia, Dior and Shih are confident American audiences will equally admire the inspirational photographs. As part of a festival on Chinese culture, the exhibit, “Christian Dior Presents Photographs by Quentin Shih,” will be open for viewing from October 17 through November 7.
Shih’s photos are digital composites of models donning Dior fashion during a Dior Winter 2008 haute couture fashion show with Chinese landscapes combined in the background to create 20 pieces of incredibly significant visual art.
The rest of the festival, entitled “Ancient Paths, Modern Voices: A Festival Celebrating Chinese Culture” which is organized by New York’s Carnegie Hall, is taking place at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, but head over to South Coast Plaza to view the magnificent collaboration between Dior and Shih.
