Cappellini’s Miami Flagship Showroom

Tomorrow evening, Miami’s Design District will be welcoming Cappellini, who will be introducing its luxury Italian furniture at its new Miami flagship showroom. The highly anticipated space will serve the southeastern U.S. as well as the neighboring Caribbean. This, the third flagship location to open in the U.S. will join the ranks of Cappellini New York and Cappellini Los Angeles.

Giulio Cappellini says, “The Miami showroom is an important step in the history of the Cappelllini Company because it allows us, for the first time, to be present in this interesting market with our own image and to contribute to the promotion of contemporary design.”

The Design District’s 2,200-square-foot Cappellini showroom will be adjacent to Poltrona Frau, as Poltrona Frau and Cappellini are owned by parent company Poltrona Frau Group s.P.A. Both brands will be on display in the two the adjoining  spaces, making this the place to shop for any  high-end Italian furniture and accessory needs.

The Cappellini name has been the leader in furniture manufacturing for 60 years, and today it is synonymous with contemporary, innovative and avant-garde design. Cappellini’s business partner, Giampiero Di Persia notes, “I fell in love with Giulio’s visionary concept of creating ‘useable’ art and his collaboration with some of the most eclectic and world renowned architects and designers.” Together the two will open the Cappellini showroom displaying museum pieces as well as Cappellini’s extensive eclectic collection for design lovers.

Some of the world’s best designing talents will also be showcased at the Miami flagship showroom, including Jasper Morrison, Tom Dixon, Marc Newson, Marcel Wanders, Shiro Kuramata, and the Bouroullec brothers, to name a few.

The opening will take place on the evening of October 22, and design lovers have even more to look forward to in the coming months. During Art Basel and Design Miami/, a collection of nine limited-edition Cappellini timeless designs will be on display. There will also be a presentation entitled “HOMAGE TO MIAMI,” which will consist of three exclusive, newly designed products made specifically for Art Basel and Design Miami/ 2009 by Giulio Cappellini himself along with Dror Benshetrit and Tom Dixon. Cappellini says, “The right scope of the design is to make the products functional and beautiful; multifaceted designed are always close to the art world.”
