Bar Pleiades Opens, Upper East Side

Need an haute new spot to visit in New York City? Well, if you’re in the Upper East Side area I recommend you check out the recently renovated Surrey Hotel’s chic French inspired new Bar Pleiades.

With the bar’s grand opening occurring just last night, you’re guaranteed to be ahead of the New York high-end cocktail scene if you wander into the glorious new space whose luxurious black-lacquered design is inspired by a Chanel compact case.

Bar Pleiades is a joint venture between designer Daniel Boulud and The Surrey Hotel to provide a classic and sophisticated place for guests to meet, entertain or simply people watch while they sip on a glass of their favorite drink in a prime New York location.

Located just off the lobby, at Bar Pleiades you can expect an upscale, elegant lounge environment coupled with the coziness of a gracious living room where simple drinks as well as “global” cocktails are served. The bar is open seven days a week, from noon until midnight, and while currently the lavish space only offers cocktails, it is expected that bar food will be added to the menu soon.
The bar comes as a result of The Surrey Hotel’s recent $60 million renovation and is located on the main floor of the hotel.
