The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City is pulling out all the stops in order to attract gamblers, sun-seekers, and dining enthusiasts alike, and their latest gimmick allows guests to indulge in exceptional deals at all three of their onsite restaurants.
Previous, and somewhat recent, ploys to attract guests included things like promoting $99 night rates, prix-fixe spa menus, a No Doubt comeback concert, and hiring Hell’s Kitchen winner, Danny Veltri, to be sous chef at the hotel’s Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar.Chef Stephen Kalt is Fornelletto’s executive chef.
Now, however, if you visit Mr. Veltri at Fornelletto on a Wednesday, you will find specially priced small plates which have been paired with Italian wines. During the month of October, customers will be privy to pairings of wine from the south of Italy, such as a dry Sicilian red Nero D’Avola for $8 a glass, and a bright white Falanghina from Campania for $10 a glass.
The hotel’s second restaurant, a Michael Mina establishment called Sea Blue, is also starting a happy hour of its own called “Social Hour” and this one takes place every weekday from 5pm until 7pm. Here guests can enjoy specialty cocktails like an $8 Tangerine Cosmopolitan along with happy hour priced bar food such as $6 rock shrimp lettuce cups and $5 hamachi poppers.
Looking for something a little different? Well, on Monday’s the hotel’s third restaurant, Izakaya, is providing $7 sushi, cocktails, and beer specials straight from “modern Japanese pub grub” menu. At 5pm the restaurant will also feature a DJ, but if you prefer the club atmosphere, simply present your receipt valued at $20 or more and you will be given complimentary admission to the mur.mur nightclub located on the hotel’s premise.
