2010 Michelin Guide

We reported the delicious news earlier on Haute Living that the Zagat rating ranked Gary Danko’s San Francisco restaurant as the No. 1 dining establishment in the city by the bay.

To follow that up on the East Coast, the Michelin Guide for 2010 was recently released, awarding cover profile for Haute Living, Chef Daniel Boulud with three coveted stars and a superlative as “one of the most exceptional restaurants in the city.”

Rising from the two-star status that he enjoyed last year, Chef Boulud now joins Jean-Georges Vongerichten, a fellow member of the circle of Haute Living cover subjects, as an elite member of the Michelin-rated three-star XXX.

As reported it the Nation’s Restaurant News, Boulud equated earning that third twinkling light to winning the Nobel Prize. “For a chef born, raised and trained in France, Michelin’s prestige is undeniable. This recognition is as meaningful to me as it is for the 135 staff [members] working at Daniel. Their talent and dedication are what go into making Daniel what it is.”

Other winners earning accolades from the restaurant-ranking guide include Charlie Palmer’s Aureole restaurant and Corton, as well as a shift in stars for many, such as Mario Batali’s Del Posto falling down to one star.
