2010 South Beach Wine & Food Festival

In honor of full-disclosure, it should be noted that the South Beach Wine & Food Festival is hands-down my favorite event of the year in Miami. Since I am the editor of a luxury lifestyle publication, it would make more sense to be a bigger fan of Art Basel, but my journalistic roots can be traced to a fine dining publication, so the Wine & Food Festival has become my annual Mecca.

So when I received the “Save the Date” for the 2010 festival, I immediately took a permanent marker to my calendar. The Festival will take place in and around the sun and sand of South Beach from February 25 to 28, 2010.

Favorite events like BubbleQ, Burger Bash, and Best of the Best will return, alongside a slew of new events that are fit for even Frank Bruni. The 2010 Tribute Dinner honoree is world-renowned culinary master Daniel Boulud, a winner of multiple awards from the James Beard Foundation and recipient of the Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur from the French government for his contribution to the advancement of French culinary culture, among several other accolades. The celebration will feature dishes from some of the finest chefs: Eric Ripert, Paul Bartolotta, Claude Troigros, Nobu Matsuhisa, and Loews Miami Beach executive chef Gordon Maybury. The festival will also highlight the talents of the hottest new dining destination in Miami, the Miami Design District, with a one-of-a-kind dining opportunity to taste the culinary expertise of chefs from Senora Martinez, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Pacific Time, and Fratelli Lyon – all in one evening!

Mark the calendar now – tickets for the 2010 Festival go on-sale Monday, October 26, 2009. For more updates on the Festival, follow Founder and Director Lee Schrager on Twitter all year at www.twitter.com/Lee_Schrager.
