Mexican born Oscar de la Hoya, the “Golden Boy” of American boxing, and his Puerto Rican pop singer wife, Millie Corretjer, have confirmed that they have purchased their dream house in Bahia Beach, Puerto Rico. The superstar couple acquired a stunning estate in the brand new and very exclusive St. Regis Residences, Las Estancias of Bahia Beach, a five-star resort community.

The St. Regis Residences, Las Estancias is scheduled to open in mid-2010 and will offer 25 imperial estate homes pioneering an unrivaled dimension of luxury and hospitality in Puerto Rico. The estates are located on a private island within Bahia and come in six variations of models with floor plans offering large verandas, three-car garages, infinity edge pools, and separate maid quarters. With the homes sized between 6,000 and 9,000 square feet, owners will enjoy properties that span half an acre to 1.5 acres that overlook stunning ocean and golf course views. Of course, residents also enjoy full access to The St. Regis Resort amenities that include the signature St. Regis Butler, the St. Regis Concierge, a Jean-George signature restaurant, Remede Spa and Fitness Center, and an oceanfront swimming pool.

Purchasing one of the 1.5 acre lots, the De la Hoya family’s new home is currently being developed in line with the high standards for excellence and luxury of the St. Regis brand. In light of his recent purchase, de la Hoya has said, “I have traveled all over the world, but there is something special about Bahia.”

The resort’s developers, BBP Partners, LLC, have received the first certified Gold Audubon International Signature Sanctuary designation ever awarded in the Caribbean. Bahia Beach is the first resort community in Puerto Rico to receive the honor.
