Designer Treats at Bloomingdale’s

For ladies who love a good jean, Bloomingdale’s in New York City is the place to be on Thursday night. The 59th Street locale of the luxury anchor store will be the venue for the introduction of Cookie Johnson’s new premium denim line. Johnson, wife of NBA legend and businessman Earvin “Magic” Johnson, has teamed up with Michael Glasser, founder of Seven, Citizens, and current owner of Rich & Skinny, to create Cj by Cookie Johnson, the first premium denim line cut for women with curves, with sizes from 0 to18.

The haute new designer is already making a name for herself in the industry, as she has been tapped by America’s 21st century version of King Midas: Queen Oprah. The media mogul donned the denim for the October cover of O Magazine. The woman with the golden touch also ran a feature on the brand in the September issue. Earlier this year, Johnson and her jeans earned a mention in the Wall Street Journal. Proving that she’s in touch with modern-day marketing, Johnson updates her twitter page (@cjbycookie) with reports of celebrities like Kelly Rowland squeezing into the straight leg cut.

Cookie Johnson will make her in-store appearance on the third floor of  Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street at Lexington Avenue on Thursday, September 24 at 6:00 p.m.
